Online sessions across the UK

Specialist help with drugs, alcohol and the things underneath them.

I'm Paul Burrows, an addiction counsellor with lived experience of trauma and recovery. We work at a pace that suits you, and nothing has to be settled in the first session.

My approach

Less telling you what to do. More working out what's going on.

  • 01We start with what's happening now, not with a list of your failures.
  • 02Change is treated as something you decide, at a pace you choose.
  • 03I bring tools from several evidence-based approaches and use what helps you.
  • 04Sessions are online, so recovery can happen from your own home.
"Part of you wants to change, and part of you doesn't. Both are telling you something useful." Working with ambivalence, one of my core ideas

You don't have to work this out on your own.

Online sessions are available across the UK. Reaching out is the first step, and it's a good one.

relationship counselling

Need to talk?

All relationships have ups and downs, but sometimes they can get a bit stuck and it’s hard to talk things through or get to a positive solution. That’s when help from a skilled couples relationship counsellor can make all the difference. Whether you are feeling things just aren’t quite right or whether you are encountering serious difficulties, a therapist can be there to listen and to support you towards a positive outcome.

Our relationship counselling service is delivered through one or more 50 minute sessions with you and your partner, or with you alone if you prefer.  Sessions are usually face-to-face and are completely confidential. You will be given a regular weekly appointment which is yours for as long as you need it, as agreed with your counsellor.  How long you continue with counselling depends entirely on your individual need.

At TalkSpace, we have been supporting relationships from early marriage to over 65 years. All of our counsellors have gone through a formal selection and training process, with ongoing professional development and regular supervision to ensure good practice is maintained.
